I don’t remember landing on the water, I don’t remember anything after I saw that sight. Yet people who found
me later said that a giant sphere of water came up and surrounded me and then dropped back into the water. They also say that
I came out of the water all by myself, and walked past Tidus and Shawna in a daze.
I was also informed that I didn’t answer any of the questions about my well being, all I can gather is that I closed
my eyes and everything was hazy, almost like a dream. Tidus had followed me into the Temple of Yevon on Besaid Island and
watched as I went into the Chamber of the Fayth, now abandoned and used for nothing. He followed and watched in silence as
I had knelt down on the floor, infront of the Hole in the ground where the living statue, called a Fayth known as Valefore
once was.
Yet I do not recall any of this. It is very hard to descibe the feeling I had when I was told all this. For when I had
opened my eyes, I was lying on the floor in the Chamber of the Fayth shivering and wet. A point in my life was missing, a
point in time that Something I had aparently did was witnessed by other people, and I did not remember it. I started to get
worried, yet I did not voice my concerns.
"Well, maybe it’s shock or something." Tidus said as he crossed his arms over his chest and tilted his head to the
side and looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "Afterall, falling from an airship would frighten anybody." He said as an after
thought. I didn’t comment. I just sat in silence on one of the beds in the Crusaders lodge and looked at the blue canvas
wall. When I had been told what I had aparently done, I felt somehow odd. It was if another entity had taken over my body
while my mind locked out that image. The image of Shawna and Tidus.
"Zanarkand to Tina.. Come in Tina." Said Tidus as he bent down to look at me. "You sure your okay?"
"Yeah, " I said as I plastered a smile on my lips and tore my gaze from the blue canvase wall and looked at Tidus. "I’m
fine." I lied.
"I don’t believe you Ti." He said as he creased his eyebrows down into a serious look. "You’ve been moping
around here or in the temple for several days, and on top of that Trommel told me he found you crying outside the farplane.
What gives?"
The shock of him knowing that must have registered on my face, because his eyes started to take on the predictable glare
when he was worried about someone.
"Out with it Ti, what’s going on?"
I shook my head and stood up. "It’s nothing. Honest." I made to go past him when he reached out and grabbed my left
wrist.
"Call me stupid, but I know your not ‘fine’ and I can also tell by how you always wander off when somethings
bugging you. I mean come on, I’ve known you since we were kids Ti, something is definatly wrong! What is it?!?"
"It’s nothing!" I said trying to pull away from him. "It’s nothing at all." By now I was frantic. I wanted
nothing more then to just get away, to get off the island. To go anywhere but be near Tidus. "Let me go, please." I pleaded
with him as he too got up and held firm his grip on my wrist.
"No Tina, I’m not letting go till you tell me the truth." He said firmly, angrily, as I strugled with him.
"You’re hurting me." I screamed. "Let go. Please!" By now my wrist was throbbing in pain. The pain was so dreadful
tears sprang into my eyes. I looked at him, and did the only thing I thought I could do. I used my right hand to hit him on
the face. Puncuating the fact that I was hurt.
Imagine if you will, a slap that sounds like a loud pop. Then imagine Tidus, my childhood friend raising his hand to his
face and letting go of my wrist. Then imagine looking into his eyes as the comprehension of what had just occured dawns on
him. Then imagine the silence. A silence so thick, that you feel like you cannot breathe. The air is so thick with the tension
that the only words you hear there after is the whispered apology.
"I’m sorry."
"It’s okay." I said as I turned and ran. Leaving a bewildered Tidus standing there in the lodge. I stopped running
when I got to the gate of Besaid Village. Standing there looking at the path leading up hill, I came to my own senses.
It was like a tiny voice in the back of my head was telling me to stop, calm down and think things through. So instead
of running to the docks on the beach of Besaid I leaned against the inside portion of the brick wall, and faced the town.
People were going about their daily lives, they seemed to be content and happy. I wondered. Would I ever be as happy and content
as them?
~ ~ ~ ~
It was several hours later when Lulu came to me at my spot of vigil where I was watching the people of Besaid Island.
"Tina." She said as she stood next to me watching the people around us, "would you like to come for a walk with me, so
we can talk about some things that I think you should know about?"
I turned and looked at the tall, beautiful black mage, and nodded my head in consent. As one we turned and walked up the
hill. It was simmilar to the feeling I had when I tried to talk to Brother, before I had fallen off the deck of the airship.
A soothing, silence of two companions.
"How much of Spira’s History do you know?" She asked me after a while, as we slowly climbed the steep hill leading
to the very top.
"Well, I know that Tidus came here four years ago, via a means that Only our friend Auron really understood. I know that
Yuna went on a pilgramage, and that many before her had died. Why?"
"It’s like this, Tina. It seems no one has told you just where Tidus actually came from." She said as we finally
got to the top of the Hill, now overlooking the Village of Besaid. "It seems that back then, there were two Zanarkands."
For some reason this did not suprise me. The fact that Lulu had said there were Two Zanarkands, reminded me of what Brother
had asked me about the Dream Zanarkand.
"You mean to say that One was the Dream Zanarkand." I said, "correct?"
"Yes, the Dream Zanarkand. I assume you have heard of it, for you to know the name of one of them. Yet I feel that you
don’t know the story behind it. Tidus, is from the Dream Zanarkand."
"Oh, okay. So what is the Dream Zanarkand. Where is it?" I asked Lulu as I turned and looked up at the sky and shaded my
eyes from the glare of the sun.
Lulu was silent for a few moments. "I think, your question should be, ‘What was the Dream Zanarkand?’ For you
see, it no longer exisits, save for in the Memory of yourself, and Tidus."
I’ll admitt, now I was starting to become a little suprised at what Lulu was telling me. The Dream Zanarkand only
lived in the memories of Myself and Tidus? Yeah right, I thought. She’s gotta be completly insane, and yet I knew she
wasn’t fibbing. So I asked Lulu a Question.
"Lulu, What’s your Story? What’s your view of the Pilgramage you went on with Yuna, Tidus and the others?"
"That’s two questions but I’ll be glad to answer them." She then told me her point of view of the adventure.
The stories matched to what Tidus had told me about Yunalesca, and a few other things I had already learned. Yet as she neared
the end of her tale she said something that did startle me.
"After Yu Yevon was defeated. Yuna and Tidus said their goodbyes. It was a heartfelt moment by us all. I remember it like
it was yesterday.."
"Yuna, it’s time for me to go." The young summoner shook her head in disbelief. The others around them as well were
just as confused.
"We’ll see you again, won’t we?" Said Rikku as she looked at Yuna feeling relieved that her cousin had not
died like the other Summoners, but sad that Tidus was leaving. At that Moment Yuna ran forward and tried to hug Tidus, but
ran right through him, as pyreflies went towards the farplane. Which would prove to become unstable later on as the years
past by. She landed on the red surface of the deck of Cids Ship, and a solitary tear fell from her left eye, down face. After
a moment she stood, and Tidus did all he could. He held his arms around her, ballancing them just over her shoulders. They
stood like that for a few moments and then he walked right though her and dived off the ship. He was never seen again, that
is untill two years later.
"Okay. I’m now completly confused." I said to Lulu. "He walked right through her? Like he wasn’t real?"
"That’s correct. You might not get the meaning of this right away, but he came from the Dream Zanarkand. When all
the Aeons were called upon and destroyed in the fight with Yu Yevon, the Dream Vanished."
This new bit gave me something to think about. If Tidus came from the Dream Zanarkand and disapeared... My train of thought
stopped dead cold as the realization hit me.
"So just How did he come back? How did I come here if the Dream Zanarkand was destroyed four years ago?"
"I do not know." Lulu said. "I know that Tidus came back at the wish of Yuna, and they were happy for a time. Then Shawna
and her family came here a year later, then you a year after that. Totaling four years. I may know answers to some things
but I don’t know all of the answers to your questions. All I can say right now, is that Shawna and her family are here,
and Tidus and yourself are here too."
This made no sence to me at all. I stood there biting my lip as I continued to look at the sky, and thought about what
Lulu had told me. We stood there in silence for a minuite more, then she spoke again.
"Perhaps you should go on a journey. Perhaps if you do that, you will learn the answers you seek."
"Where should I begin though?" I asked.
"From the begining. It’s all the little things you learn that will eventually tell you a story as a whole. As Auron
would say, this just isn’t your story. It’s a story of many people, what you decide now, will lead you to the
story’s ending."
Auron. Now there was a man I remembered from my youth. To learn that he orginally came from here and was Spira’s
equivilant to a ghost saddened me. To know that he wasn’t around was truly something I hadn’t counted on.
Before we could start on any journey though, we had to decide who would go with me. Tidus wanted to go, as did Yuna, Rikku,
and Paine. A woman with short grey spiky hair wearing an outfit of black leather and carying a well taken care of sword.
Not only were these people to be my traveling companions, they were to protect me in my quest for answers, and to start
at the begining, meant to start where Rikku and the others had found me. Overlooking a map on the table in the Crusaders Lodge
Rikku had pinpointed the location.
"Figures." Tidus said with a grim smile. "They found you where I first ended up. That’s the location of Baaj Temple."
"So this is where we start first?" I asked as I looked at the marked out area on the Map.
"Looks like it." Tidus said, "but you know, before we can do that, you have a Blitzball match to play in so tommorow the
first place we’re going to is Killika Island, and from there to Luca. The second biggest town in all of Spira."
"Wonderful. Wakka told me you wouldn’t be playing. That you had somewhere you needed to be." I said as I stood up
and walked around the table to look at other areas of Spira as they were located on the map.
"Just something I have to do. It’s sort of important, but I’ll meet up with you in Luca after the Game. I’ll
be leaving tonight anyways." Tidus said as he leaned down o the table. "From Luca all of us can take an Albhed ship to the
Baaj Ruins. Rikku, was there anything there that might prove useful?" He asked.
Rikku looked at the ceiling and thought for a moment and then pointed a little out to the sea, about a mile from the temple.
"Around here was an Albhed ship. It looked to be abandoned, and like it had been under an attack of some sort. That’s
where I think we should start looking." She said as she looked at the others. They all agreed with this, so I cast my vote
of consent and Rikku Rolled up the Map. "Great! See you all in Luca Tommorow!" With that she and Paine left, and probabaly
boarded the Celcius with the nearest boarding sphere. The only people who were left were Yuna, and Tidus.
"So Yuna," Tidus said with an impish grin. "Are you ready to go on yet another adventure?" He asked. Yuna smiled and looked
at Tidus.
"I think in this case, the adventure is Tina’s, we may be apart of it, but the Story is hers and hers alone to tell.
Our Stories have already been told. Lets just try to help your friend Tina get a happy ending." She said smiling at me. "After
all, she is new to Spira, and I have a feeling she’ll succeed." Little did she know, that when we would leave for our
adventure, things would happen to us, that would shake the foundations of the history of Spira even more.
Little did we know, that someone was already aware of these plans...
That night while I slept I had another dream.
I was that little girl again, and I was walking next to a man. Not a Guado, but a man, who looked like the Lord Zaon.
He was telling me that he and my mother had to leave on a great quest. To fight something, so as to bring peace to the world.
I didn’t understand it very much. All I understood was that the Mayster had selected my mother to go on this quest.
I was to stay in Guadosalam with the Mayster of the Guado while they went on this trip.
"Will you come back?" I had asked this man, and he said that he might not. That there was a chance that both he and my
mother would die. This saddned me, and I sat there looking at my hands. After a while the man put something in my hands. It
was a round glass ball, glowing a nice bright orange color.
"This is for you. Promise me you’ll watch it, when you’re older."
That’s when I woke up. The deep voice of this persons words echoing in my mind.
"Watch it when you’re older... Well then, maybe I will. I’m a lot older then the little girl in my dream."
I said outloud to myself.
"Watch what?" Said a voice of someone. Yet as I looked around me in the lodge I couldn’t see anybody.
"Who’s there?" I asked as I sat up and tried to peer into the dark corners of the lodge.
"Just a friend." Said the voice. "Now, what is it that you want to watch?"
"That’s none of your concern. Now show yourself." I said in a quavering voice, that betrayed my fear.
"Alright, I’ll show myself. All you have to do is open your mind to things like the unbelieveable." The voice said,
as I looked around me, trying to pinpoint the source of the voice.
"What do you mean the unbeleviable?"
"I mean, that you have to open your heart to us. In order to see us, you have to believe in us."
"Us? What do mean ‘us’ How can I believe in anything except for what my eyes show me." I said as my voice quavered
more.
"Don’t be so blind Child. If you’re going to go on your quest for answers, you’ll need us. I live in
the temple, and your mother before you utalized my help in a great battle."
"I don’t understand what your saying!" I said in a harsh whisper trying to cover my fear.
"There’s no need to be afraid of us, we just want to help."
"I don’t understand!"
"You will in time. Just believe in us, and we’ll come to your aid. We wern’t all destroyed as the local black
mage says..." The voice said as it drew nearer to me. "Our souls were just released, and with the farplane having been unstable
for two years before we’ve been wandering looking for someone. Someone to call on us."
It dawned on me then.
"You can’t possibly be, a Fayth." I said as an overwhelming feeling of warmth flooded into me.
"I am, and we can each be found all over Spira. Just believe in us, and we will come. We will help in your quest. Your
story will be told." The voice then faded as if it were inside my head. "All you have to do, is let us into your heart."
At that moment I heard a soft pure voice singing as it faded.
Ieyui
Nobomenu
Renmiri
Yojuyogo
Hasatekanae
Kutamae
It was later learned to be the Hymm of the Fayth.
